During the School days in the morning and evening I used to visit Pongamia trees to collect the Pods that were dropped on the ground. Collected Pongamia, Tamarind pods, dried them in Sunlight and separated the Pongamia seeds from the pods. Once in a week visited the Tayalur shopping, places, enquired the rates and on those days the price of one seru (Old measurement) of Pongamia seeds was 0.60paise. The amount so realized was handed over to father with an intention to assist him to run the family. The experience of selling Pongamia seeds in the market helped me in the long run in my life to adopt marketing skills.
